  • Dear Friends,

The Lord has been working in my heart in so many marvolus ways! What a week it has been! Last Friday I was on my way to the first “Anne of Green Gables” play practice and I had a 30 minute drive ahead of me. I remembered that today was “National day of Prayer” for the Hurricane Katrina victims. So I decided to pray… as I began suddenly my mind began to spin as I thought of all the prayer requests for people we know, tragic situations, broken relationships, etc. Let alone the victims, I felt totally overwhelmed as images of faces, both familiar and not,  began to whirl in my heart and mind! All I could think of was all the hurt, pain and brokenness in this world of sin and I began to weep! I prayed through my tears, until I could not continue, the emotion was so great! Then I recalled the last verse in Revelation talking about Jesus’ return! So through my tears I looked out the window up at the cloudy sky and cried out loud: “Come quickly Lord, Jesus! Come quickly!” As soon as I spoke those words I saw the face of Jesus, NOT literally, but in my mind I saw the face of my Savior looking directly at me! His eyes were so compassionate and understanding and two single tears were rolling down his cheeks! Then I saw Him turn and kneel before His Father and with His hands clasped Jesus asked “Can’t I go now! Please, isn’t it time yet?” He was pleading for permission to return!!! I always thought about the return of Christ from my perspective… He would come in glory, majesty and spendor and take all believers to be with Him forever! But here I saw it in an entire different way. It was as if Jesus wanted to come, not just for His glory but because He saw how we were suffering! And He wants to come rescue us! As Jesus is pleading God shakes His head, gently puts His hand on His Son’s shoulder and says “No,  the time is not yet ready! You must wait! For I wish to see none perish but many to receive repentence!” Jesus with tears shining in His eyes looked back at me and gently smiled as if to say ”You heard God’s answer! Keep your eyes on the goal, press foward and I will give you a crown of life! Then… then it will be worth it all!”

I need not tell you that I wanted to cry, laugh, shout, and sing all at the same time! It was the most vivid picture I had ever seen, I felt such love and compassion that I thought my heart would burst! To think that Jesus Himself would want to return because of our pain was unfathomable! How I love Him! One of the questions I have really been praying about lately is “Why are we here on this earth!” There are several answers one might give, “To glorify God” “Run the race of life” “Make our mark on the world” etc. But as I prayed I could only come to one conclustion… I am here for the “soul” purpose of witnessing to others about the only thing that matters: Jesus! That is the entire reason we exsit… every moment of every day must be lived to glorify Him! What better way to glorfy Him than my sharing what He has done with others! I loved the way one man said: “So many Christians think of witnessing as this “thing” you do! You have a tract in your pocket and you sneak around like a detective “waiting” for your chance to “witness!” Friends, as Christians we are to be a witness from the moment we wake up to the moment we lay down at night!” (Paraphrasing) This past week I was sorely conviced of this! And after my experience on Friday I was convinced that the Lord has something greater instore for me, and all believers than what we had planned for ourselves.

“He who testifies to these thigns says, “Surely, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” -Revelation 22:20-21

    Delighting in His love, Kristi

  • Wow, that is amazing and so completely true. I can’t wait for that day.

  • Wow Kristi, that’s amazing! I’m so excited for you! Keep pressing on toward the goal!

  • That is one of the most encouraging things I have ever read.  God is amazing!

  • Hello there! I found your site on the “I’d rather be at Pemberly” blogring. You seem like an amazing person whose letting God direct your life and shape you and form you according to His plan, not yours.

I knew I’d love you the moment you mentioned an Anne of Green Gables play. Anne of Green Gables is the best book series ever!

  •      I love girly movies. There so much fun!!! My sister and I like to watch them together by ourselves. Of course, it’s quite difficult to enjoy a good girly movie when your brothers are picking on you and giving you raised eyebrows the whole time! I have three brothers, Daniel, David, and Ethan. I love ‘em, but watching fun movies with them is somewhat difficult. I love my personal times with my sister when we do things like that together. Katie is my best friend! Okay, I’m rambling now. But hey, I’m a member of the “ramblers of many words” blogring, so I have the right, right?

Love ya lots! And may God bless you in abundance!               —Brittany

  • Hey Kristi,Musical Friends was awsome it’s just to bad we have to meet on Tuesdays.

  •      Writing is wonderful, is it not? I love stories! They are beautiful works of art. Someday I will capture one with my pen, but most of the time they are like mischeivous little leprecons that disappear just when you think you’ve caught them.

I, too, want to write historical fiction. Right now I’m doing research for a story about Emily Geiger, a girl who lived during the Revolutionary War. As legend has it, she was asked by General Greene to deliver a message to someone, but was intercepted by the British troops. While they were looking for a woman to search her, she memorized the letter, than ate it, so that when a woman was found to search her person they found nothing, and she was set free to deliver the message. That story always intruiged me, so I thought it would be fun to turn it into a novel. I love researching the time period, finding out odd facts about the culture back than, the etiquette, the foods they ate and the clothes they wore, and the work they did everyday, as well as what they considered fun. I love it all! But when it comes to gathering battle plans and military jargon of the time and dates and all that stuff, I’m lost.

You mentioned you liked screenplays, too. One of my friends writes screenplays. That is, she wrote the beginning of one, which was excellent, but she never finished it, though I’ve pestered her plenty. Sometimes I almost like writing screenplays better than novels myself, only you’d have to depend on someone else to act it out and take on your character’s life, and someone to picture the way they think it looks in their minds and find the setting they envisioned and so on and so forth, so I like having the control of those things left to myself.

I would love to see your Anne of Green Gables play! I’m nuts over Anne. Just ask my friends, I quote her once a day! Anne is my best fictional friend. Do you have a favorite fictional friend?

Well, I hope you were in earnest when you said I was free to ramble! This is my third comment this day! But it’s Saturday, normally I’m not online this long because of school. I’m homeschooled and in my senior year of high school. Also, I should let you know that I don’t get on the computer on Sundays because I usually use that as a day of rest from the internet, so I won’t be able to comment until Monday. But I’m so happy to meet another kindred spirit! And I’d love to hear all about whatever novel or short story or screenplay you’re working on at the moment, or have worked on.

May god shower you with bushels of blessings!                        —Brittany
